Technical info:
Renegade is already a legend in the big mountain category, and 4Frnt are continuously making small adjustments to it. It has still got the sandwich construction that is reinforced with fibreglass, entirely without sidewalls. The wooden core continues over the steel edges. Consequently they have also got rid of the chief problem of freeride skis, namely loose sidewalls and delamination after hitting rocks. The latest feature is that the top sheet is folded a little down along the top corner of the ski. It has negative camber throughout the whole ski and one of the longest turning radiuses in the test. The short setback gives little width difference between the back and front ski. It has a steeper tip angle than the first models.

On snow:
This is a thoroughly tested big mountain ski which is made for high speed and long turns. Very stable at high speed. The faster the better! Easy to skid in powder and extremely stable on tracked snow. When the surface varies, it works well for long turns. It might be a little tame and heavy to maneuverer on hard surfaces. Although this model has one of the smallest surface areas in the test, we would have liked to see better flotation. However, the Renegade is popular and this incarnation will probably not disappoint you. It absorbs uneven surfaces with a voracious appetite.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
