Technical info:
Black Crows are well known for their solid freeride skis, so it may come as a surprise that this is the indisputably softest ski in the test. The poplar and paulownia core is reinforced with fibreglass. Oblique side walls help reduce the weight, without it being super light. As usual, Black Crows combine pronounced taper with a short turning radius—here it´s shorter in the back than in the front. Rocker in front and behind.

On snow:
Black Crows have come up with a good formula for making modern freeride skis. Their models share common features, although they come in different widths and weights. Camox Freebird feels smooth and easy to maneuverer, and despite the soft flex it´s very stable. Its not best at anything, but it will be a good companion in everything from big mountainsides to steep couloirs.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
