Technical info:
Black Diamond has moved away from plain cap constructions and now make surfaces with a lot of relief combined with sidewall. Just like previous years, the Megawatt has a long rocker in the front and an enormous setback. This gives a wide front ski and a back ski which is only slightly wider than its waist. The turning radius is very long, so you will use the difference in angle between the left and right edges to turn. This model does not have the soft tip it used to have. The back ski is relatively stiff and a little softer in front.

On snow:
Megawatt is a ski that is built to float. The test panel agrees that this is like putting a pair of boards beneath the feet. It´s ideal for speed and big turns! This is a former test winner that doesn’t feel quite as sharp as before. It doesn´t respond that well and it is slow from edge to edge. The turning radius is very long. It may well be that the other skis in the test have developed more in recent years. It floats well and is stable at high speed. Easy to maneuverer in powder. Megawatt suits those who like to float and are looking for a specialized powder ski.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
