Fri Flyt overall rating of Elan Rip Stick 96:

7 / 10

Flotation:
6 / 10
Turning capabilities:
8 / 10
Stability at speed:
7 / 10
Technical info:
This is the second narrowest ski in Elan´s new Ripstick series. Ripstick 96 has a soft front ski and tip. A lot of sidecut, combined with a long setback, suggests that this is a ski that wants to turn all the time, but this is countered by the soft front ski. The specific weight is very low for this type of ski.

On snow:
Ripstick 96 is very easy to turn. The front ski is soft and big. This works well for some, while it´s too soft for others. It´s not particularly responsive though. The floatation is above average in this category. Ripstick has good floatation, is easy to turn and has a fairly low specific weight. This might be a good freeride/touring alternative for unexperienced riders.
