Fri Flyt overall rating of Elan Spectrum 105:

7 / 10

Flotation:
6 / 10
Turning capabilities:
8 / 10
Stability at speed:
7 / 10
Technical info:
This model has a lot of sidecut. Add to this a long setback, and you get a very wide tip. The ski is soft, especially in the front. Elan make skis with a twisted rocker (a little more on the outside than on the inside), so make sure you put them on the right foot. The low specific weight makes this one of the lightest skies in the test.

On snow:
This is a ski that floats well and is easy to maneuver. A secure ski that handles crust and slush well. However, we would expect it to be more playful considering the sidecut and length . Maybe it’s too soft to hold on to the power? Several of the test riders comment that it doesn´t like high speed and that it performs best in medium turns. A good choice for those who like controlled turns both on and off the groomed slopes.
