Technical info:
Candide 4.0 is a large and long ski with a long turning radius. Faction is the test's only ski without taper. The sidecut goes all the way to the tips. This, combined with a wide waist, makes the tips rather large. The sandwich construction has balsa wood in the core and contains flax plant fibres. The weight is very low, in fact it’s the lowest in this category. The camber is special: Concave rocker at the back, abrupt bend to a flat back ski, short camber in the front and abrupt bend to a flat rocker tip. This gives an extreme pressure in the rocker transition in the front (red arrow), and pronounced pockets under the front ski. Stiff flex in the tip.

On snow:
Large and solid freeride ski which successfully manages to lie completely flat on the surface, without being too boring. It doesn't feel particularly light. The reason is probably the large tips. This is a nostalgic freeride ski in many ways. It may be hard to pull the low, stiff tips up from the powder. However, stiff tips charge through in tracked powder. Candide 4.0 can handle anything, but if you don´t have skills to match it, you might find it hard to do the wildest tricks.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
