Technical info:
Hagan shows up with one of the narrower lightweighters in the test. The paulownia wood core is reinforced with carbon fibre. The profile is three dimensional in front in order to reduce weight. It has a traditional shape with a long sidecut, but with low rocker in front. The flex is soft, and it has the softest tip in the test. The sidecut radius is longest at the waist and shorter in the front and back ski, much the same as the Fischer Transalp.

On snow:
Chimera One from Hagan was something of a surprise. Skis in this category imply compromises, and here the Austrians have managed to balance low weight with a solid feeling. It´s got good bite on hard snow and handles varying snow conditions with ease. It won’t win you any freeride competition, nor will it take you first up the mountain, but you are guaranteed a good day whatever the snow conditions may be.
