Fri Flyt overall rating of Kästle BMX 118:

7 / 10

Flotation:
8 / 10
Turning capabilities:
7 / 10
Stability at speed:
8 / 10
Technical info:
The longest side cut radius in the test (35 meters). The 17 cm long setback doesn´t really have much effect due to the width difference. A lot of rocker in the front ski, not in the back. A little more than an average stiff back ski. A massive construction makes this the test´s largest and heaviest ski. Like other women´s skis, the back ski is stiffer than the front ski.

On snow:
A typical big mountain ski - stable at speed, safe and with excellent flotation. But BMX 118 demands an experienced skier and big mountains. We struggled to find weaknesses with this ski. It can be a little difficult to maneuver in dense woods. All in all, a stable ski that responds well once you apply pressure to it.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
