Fri Flyt overall rating of Kästle FX 85:

5 / 10

Flotation:
4 / 10
Turning capabilities:
7 / 10
Stability at speed:
6 / 10
Technical info:
Not only is this the narrowest ski in the test. It also has heaviest construction in relation to the surface area. Interestingly, this model is actually built for ski touring purposes. A lot of sidecut and a small rocker in the back. Even and soft flex. The tips are covered with metal for protection. Skins are easily attached to the tail. This ski has quite a lot of sidecut.

On snow:
The edge grip on groomed slopes is very good. Off-piste it sank like a stone. There was no flotation at all. In addition, it was difficult to turn in powder. Best suited for the groomed slopes at moderate speed.
