Technical info:
LX85 is a relatively stiff and heavy aluminum construction. The flex is fairly even throughout the whole ski. The same can be said of the sidecut radius, which fairly average. The tail is flat and there is almost no rocker in the front. This means that you get a long gliding area. The LX85 has a pronounced camber, while the MX89, for example, is flat and has a longer sidecut radius.

On snow:
Wide piste skis is Kästle´s specialty, and we liked the MX89 that we reviewed in a previous test. But LX is surprisingly tame. It is easy to turn with, but only at medium speed. It is not among the most stable models at high speed. And it tends to dig into the snow when conditions vary. LX85 is not a versatile ski, but it suits those who like nice, rhythmic turns down the piste.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
