Technical info:
This ski differs significantly from what we've seen from Kästle so far. A fully symmetrical ski in this size appears from time to time, but that it comes from the racing-oriented continentals is surprising. The West has a 0 mm setback and the back ski is just as wide as the front. The test skis were not mounted according to this, as it stood 7 cm behind the waist. This may result in a ski that understeers. Stiffer front ski than back ski.

On snow:
The American jibber Colby West´s widest model is a reliable and decent freeriding alternative. You will find your position relatively quickly, but you can count on having to work a little from edge to edge down the groomed slopes. They´re not the quickest skis around. A front mounting would have worked well for the Kästle West, although this would give you more back ski to handle. A cross between a waist-centered mounting and the way we set them up will probably be the best solution.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
