Fri Flyt overall rating of SGN 1184:

8 / 10

Flotation:
8 / 10
Turning capabilities:
7 / 10
Stability at speed:
8 / 10
Technical info:
Fibreglass sandwich from SGN (Sogndal, Norway) with a large negative camber over a short area in the waist (-21mR). Flat front and back ski. Relatively low weight, long turning radius and symmetrical taper and rocker. These skis are soft, especially in the waist and front. Only the tail is a bit stiffer.

On snow:
The 1184 performs well overall and stands out as a modern freeride ski with good float and good maneuverability. It is easy to maneuverer, although some of the testers wanted more sharpness on hard snow. The relatively short gliding surface is a drawback on more difficult surfaces. Powderhounds looking for a slightly narrower ski than Togga, from the same brand, should check out the 1148.
