Technical info:
QST99 is the smallest model in Salomon´s new free ride series. It is quite asymmetrical compared to other models from the same brand, with considerably more sidecut and rocker in the front ski. There is less sidecut in the back ski, which is also quite stiff. This 4Frnt model has the widest tip in this test category.

On snow:
We struggled to control the little brother in the QST series down the piste, and we didn´t quite get accustomed to the big tip. The edge grip is firm though. The tip works with and against you in powder. It doesn´t plunge, but a lot of sidecut and the width of the tip doesn´t make it predictable in tracked snow. Best suited for those who are looking for a freeride ski with a narrow waist.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
