Technical info:
Völkl´s Eight series was introduced last year, aimed at freeriding, the piste and ski touring. The design is characterized by a long, low rocker in both ends, as we know it from previous Völkl skis. The short taper on the Völkl 90Eight gives a long sidecut. We received a fairly short model, and this is also the shortest ski in the test.

On snow:
Several of the riders wanted to test a longer model. This is a solid ski that is best suited for the prepared runs. It turns well and the edge grip is good, but it failed to impress in powder, at least the length we were testing. The stability at speed could have been better, but this could be down to the short pair we tested. This ski is best suited for the experienced rider who likes carved turns, mostly on and occasionally off-piste.

This sequence of numbers indicates stiffness. Each number corresponds to a part of the ski, from tail to tip. 5 equals the average
for this part and length of the ski. Lower values indicate softer skis, higher values stiffer.
